Wednesday Night...

I will soon be posting an interview with Josh Brindle from "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" ministries. God bless!

Josh Brindle Interview:
About You:
Well, I am from Central Indiana near a medium sized town known as Crawfordsville. I was saved at an outreach (The Power Team) in January '95 during my sophomore year in High School. I was fortunate to be involved with a church that taught the Word and worshiped authentically. That is what I remember sticking out. Early on, I had a small group of Christians to hang out with at high school that really helped me to stand up for Christ, eventhough I ended up standing up a lot more and a lot "louder" than they did.

The most influential people in my life early was a good Christian mentor, a down-to-earth pastor, Oswald Chambers (My Utmost for His Highest), great college friends who loved the Lord, and good teaching all the way through.

Ministry:
I am currently ministering in Iron River, MI in my father-in-law’s Calvary Chapel. My wife Grace and I started a street-level, community outreach/music ministry which is called He-Brews Coffee & Music. This has since then become A School of ministry/discipleship in which we teach and disciple around 20 young adults in the Word, worship, and serving. We also have a “messianic heart,” if you will, wherein we teach on and celebrate the “shadows” of the Messiah in The Feasts of Israel and a good understanding of the Sabbaths, the culture, the language, and even the wedding ceremonies of the Jews and as it pertains to a clearer understanding of Jesus Christ the Jew. On top of these ministries, I (Josh) lead the worship at at our church and do music outreach through my own song-writing whenever I get the chance.

Prayer Requests:
Inside of our ministries we come UP against a serious darkness and apathy in an area of rugged individuality where people don’t really “need” or want your help. But, it seems the next generation sees a lot of problems with this mentality. And, I feel, that we were called UP here to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from all over the country to help change the culture and usher in revival of prayer and the Word in this next and maybe FINAL generation. Everybody is poor and there is very little hope. We pray that we lead people to the richness in Christ and give them hope.

Please pray that the Lord opens the ears and eyes of the people UP here, to make them know the need of a Savior. Pray that the Holy Spirit would move mightily in this generation of young people. Pray for resources, vehicles/vehicle upkeep, and places to house everyone coming UP here.

Music:
My music “project” is actually called Husk Vs. Horn, but the Tribe of Judah is the music ministry/worship wing of our School of Discipleship. We keep an open-door policy that allows different students and members to be involved at different times. It is more about whether you are pursuing God than being a phenomenal musician. So, it kind of has an”enter the worship circle” feel.

Going on a tour is a chance to bind together, be brothers, serve each other and others--ministries, churches, other musicians, etc. It gave us a chance to let the School guys/girls stretch their wings and put the Bible to practical use. We accomplished all this and more as we watched God open doors up to witness and exemplify Christ. We got to see Him provide time and time again--never failing. We left with no business doing what we set out to do and He met every need and then some!!!

Upstate SC:
We really love the Hills and Greg and Kathy and their tireless hospitality and heart to serve others and make them feel welcome. We saw, as in several other places on the tour, that God is awakening this younger generation and putting in the hearts the need for a return to prayer and worship in Spirit and Truth. We were very blessed at the laying on of hands and the encouragement from the brethren. So, thanks!

By the way, the festival was cold and rainy and difficult, but God was working through it the whole time. We got to play about three times and see a lot of friends. Not to mention, we prayed a lot for the area and saw God answer. The Lord is good, and blessed be the man who puts his trust in Him.

Monday Night Bible Study (10-26-09)

We had the privilege of entertaining a special guest on our Monday night Bible study program. Jason Mills, founder of Calvary Spartanburg, ministered in both worship and the word last night during our one-and-a-half hour meeting.

It was nice to be in the presence of another brother in the Lord, hear God's Word and worship with a fellow believer whom we only recently met. God bless Monday night fellowship and God bless Jason and his family!

Our brother shared about how God provides for us. That He doesn't wait for us to get loaded-up with all the right information, then let us move in knowledge, but that He gives us just enough information to set us in the right direction so we can move in faith.

He gave an illustration from a book called "God Smuggler" about faith lessons from a missionary training school, and waiting on God's provision, providing as a background and focus the Scripture from Luke chapter 9 verses 1 through 17:

"And He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. And He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And He said to them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staffs, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money, nor each to have two tunics. And whatever house you enter into, abide there and depart from there. And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. And they departed and went through the towns, proclaiming the gospel and healing everywhere. And Herod the tetrarch heard of all the things happening by Him. And he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead; and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen again. And Herod said, John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see Him. And returning, the apostles told Him all that they had done. And He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida. But knowing this, the crowds followed Him. And He received them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and He healed those who had need of healing. But the day began to wear away, and coming up the Twelve said to Him, Send the crowd away so that they may go into the villages and farms all around, and lodge, and get food. For we are here in a deserted place. But He said to them, You give them something to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people. (For they were about five thousand men.) And He said to His disciples, Make them recline by fifties in a company. And they did so, and made them all recline. And He took the five loaves and the two fish. And looking up to Heaven, He blessed them and broke, and He gave to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they ate and were all filled. And there was taken up twelve hand baskets full of fragments of that left over to them."

So for whoever reads this, go ahead and share what you gained from this meeting, so the rest of the world can be edified if they so choose.
